What Qedma Does

Qedma builds QESEM (Quantum Error Suppression and Error Mitigation), software that analyzes device-specific noise on a quantum processor and suppresses part of it in real time during circuit execution while mitigating the rest in post-processing — letting circuits up to roughly 1,000x larger run with usable accuracy on today's noisy hardware, without waiting for full fault-tolerant error correction. It is a hardware-agnostic, software-only bet: rather than building qubits, Qedma sells better effective performance on top of whatever quantum processor a customer already owns.

Founded in Tel Aviv in 2020 by CEO Asif Sinay alongside physicists Netanel Lindner (Technion) and Dorit Aharonov (Hebrew University), Qedma's clearest signal of credibility is IBM's own participation: since September 2024, IBM has distributed QESEM to enterprise customers through its Qiskit Functions marketplace, and in July 2025 IBM joined Qedma's $26 million Series A as an investor alongside Glilot Capital and Korea Investment Partners.

Technology: QESEM (Quantum Error Suppression and Error Mitigation) software; hardware-agnostic, distributed commercially through IBM's Qiskit Functions marketplace.
Roadmap: Expand QESEM deployment across more hardware vendors and enterprise customers as a nearer-term alternative to waiting for full fault-tolerant error correction.

Key Milestones

2020Founded in Tel Aviv by Asif Sinay, Netanel Lindner and Dorit Aharonov.
Sep 2024QESEM integrated into IBM's Qiskit Functions platform — the first third-party error-mitigation software IBM distributes commercially.
Jul 2025$26M Series A closes with IBM itself joining as an investor alongside Glilot Capital and Korea Investment Partners.

How to Get Exposure Today

No listed pure-play matches the error-mitigation-software model directly. Qedma's software runs on top of hardware from IBM and vendors like IonQ (IONQ) and Rigetti (RGTI) rather than competing with them.

Qedma Stock FAQ

Can you buy Qedma stock?

No. Qedma is private and has not announced an IPO.

What is the difference between error mitigation and error correction?

Error correction (Riverlane's focus) uses redundant physical qubits to build fault-tolerant logical qubits. Error mitigation, Qedma's approach, runs on today's noisy hardware as-is, using software to suppress and statistically cancel out errors after the fact — a nearer-term technique that doesn't require extra qubits.

Why does IBM work with Qedma?

IBM both invested in Qedma's 2025 Series A and distributes its QESEM software commercially through the Qiskit Functions marketplace — an unusual case of a major hardware vendor endorsing and reselling a small startup's software on its own machines.
