STAR Market IPO in preparation
Once the listing closes, Origin Quantum will join the tracked pure-play quantum stocks on this site.
Origin Quantum (本源量子) is China's flagship full-stack quantum computing company, spun out of the University of Science and Technology of China in Hefei. It builds superconducting quantum computers end-to-end — chips, control systems, cryogenics, and its own operating system — and runs the Wukong series on a public quantum cloud. The 72-qubit Origin Wukong shipped in January 2024; the 180-qubit Wukong-180 followed in 2026.
Backed by more than $800M from Chinese state funds and strategic investors, Origin Quantum initiated IPO counseling for the Shanghai STAR Market in September 2025 at an implied valuation around ¥6.9B (~$950M). A listing would make it the second Chinese pure-play quantum stock after QuantumCTek (688027.SS).
| Round | Amount | Date | Key Investors | Valuation |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| State + strategic rounds | $800M+ cumulative | 2017–2025 | China state funds, SDIC, CAS-affiliated investors | ~¥6.9B implied (Sep 2025) |
QuantumCTek (688027.SS) is the listed Chinese quantum comparable — tracked in our International tier. Rigetti (RGTI) is the US superconducting full-stack comparable.
